Big Announcement
Dear readers,
Starting from Monday, I’ll be uploading all the remaining chapters of this fanfiction, around 50 in total — at 20-minute intervals. The story is already complete, and rather than continue with the daily uploads, I've decided it’s best to release it all at once and bring this journey to a close.
Now, I want to be open with you about why I've made this decision.
Throughout this process, I've faced a constant wave of criticism not thoughtful feedback but complaints driven by personal expectations and wish-fulfillment fantasies. Every chapter seemed to be met with comments like, "This should’ve happened," or "Why didn’t you do this instead?" as if the story had to cater to everyone’s individual desires rather than follow the narrative I was carefully building. It became exhausting.
Fanfiction, at its core, used to be about passion, about taking characters we love and exploring new paths with them, for fun, for storytelling, and for creativity. But platforms like Webnovel have turned it into something else entirely. I've seen fan works torn apart not for being poorly written, but for not meeting someone’s specific headcanon. There's an increasing sense of entitlement, where some readers treat writers like content vending machines instead of people creating something from their hearts.Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.
And that toxicity has taken its toll on me. I found myself writing not out of joy, but from a sense of obligation and defensiveness. That's not what writing should feel like. That's not how stories should be told.
So, I've made the choice to finish this fanfic in one go, let it go, and move forward. I've been working on my own original novel, something that’s deeply personal and exciting to me, and I want to give it the time and energy it deserves without the weight of this negativity hanging over me.
To the readers who stuck by this story, supported it for what it was, and respected the journey, I thank you sincerely. I hope you enjoy the final chapters. They’re not perfect, but they're honest. And they're mine.
Thank you for understanding and for being here.
I haven't received a single hateful comment on Royal Road just support and engagement. Huge thanks to the amazing RR readers!
